Raipur: The 150th Anniversary of “Vande Mataram” is a unique occasion of pride and patriotism for the entire nation. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, this historic festival is being celebrated as a year-long mega campaign. Along with the rest of the country, in Chhattisgarh too, this event will be organised in a grand manner in four phases, from the village panchayat to the state level, with public participation.

The First Phase Will Begin on November 7

The program to mark the completion of 150 years of Vande Mataram will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday November 7, 2025.

This national event will be broadcast on Doordarshan from 10 am to 11 am. Following the Prime Minister’s address, Vande Mataram will be sung en masse across the country. The lyrics and tune of the song are available on the portal vandemataram150.in

The year-long event will be held in four phases.

The event will be held in four phases: the first phase to begin from Friday November 7 to Friday 14, 2025, the second phase from January 19 to 26, 2026, the third phase from August 7 to 15, 2026 (with the “Tiranga in Every Home” campaign), and the fourth phase from November 1 to 7, 2026.

During this period, various programs will be organised in all districts, village panchayats, educational institutions, offices, and social organisations across the state, including the mass singing of the national anthem.

Participation of Ministers and Public Representatives in Districts

Special programs will be organised in all districts of the state in the presence of ministers, MPs, MLAs, and public representatives. Participation of local artists, students, social organisations, and citizen groups will be ensured in each district to transform the campaign into a mass movement.

Special Activities and Creative Events in Schools

Special meetings, essay writing, debates, quizzes, poster making, and cultural competitions on the theme of “Vande Mataram” will be held in all schools, colleges, and educational institutions across the state. Musical performances related to Vande Mataram will be presented by the NCC, NSS, Scouts and Guides, and school bands.

The State Police Band will also create a patriotic atmosphere in public spaces with programs based on Vande Mataram and patriotic songs.

“Vande Mataram Audio-Video Booths,” an innovative initiative

“Vande Mataram Audio-Video Booths” will be installed across the state under a public-private partnership. Citizens will be able to sing Vande Mataram in their own voice and upload it to the portal. The portal also provides access to the song’s original tune and lyrics.

This initiative will allow people to express their patriotism in their own way, making the movement more personal and emotional.

The 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram” is not just a memorable occasion, but a vibrant message of national unity, self-respect, and devotion to the motherland. This event will connect Chhattisgarh’s new generation with India’s cultural roots and deepen their sense of patriotism, duty, and national consciousness.

Vande Mataram is not just a song, but the voice of India’s soul, whose echo will instill new energy and pride in every citizen. – Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai
