Bilaspur: A goods train derailed on Bilaspur-Katni railway section under Bilaspur Railway Division of South East Central Railway on Tuesday November 26 , 2024 . The accident occurred between Khongsara and Bhanwartank stations on Tuesday morning at around 11.11 am, when 22 coaches of a long haul goods train derailed.

Some coaches overturned on the tracks. Due to this incident on the up line, operations on both up and down lines on this route have been disrupted. Restoration work has been started. Due to disruption in operations on this route, some trains are being sent to their destinations via diverted routes.

Keeping in view the convenience of passengers, the railway has set up help desks at Bilaspur, Raigarh, Anuppur, Shahdol, Uslapur, Durg, Raipur and Gondia stations. It has also issued some helpline numbers 9752441105 and 1072 in Bilaspur.

The railway has cancelled four trains due to this incident. The wheels of two trains stopped midway. Apart from this, it has been decided to run nine trains on diverted routes.

12824 Nizamuddin-Durg Sampark Kranti Express leaving from Nizamuddin on Tuesday will reach Bilaspur Railway Station via the diverted route Jhansi-Bhopal-Itasi-Nagpur-Durg.
