The PM said- From 1947 to 1952, there was no elected government in this country. There was a temporary arrangement, a selected government. This was also an insult to the constitution makers.
While participating in the debate on the glorious journey of 75 years of the Constitution in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi fiercely targeted the Congress and the Gandhi family. In his address, PM Modi said- One family of Congress left no stone unturned in hurting the Constitution. In the long history of the country, only one family has ruled. The evil thoughts, bad customs, bad policies of this family, its tradition is continuing. This family has challenged the Constitution at every level.
The constitution makers were also insulted- PM
PM Modi further said- From 1947 to 1952, there was no elected government in this country. There was a temporary system, a selected government. Elections were not held. The blueprint was prepared as an interim system. Rajya Sabha was not formed before 1952. There was no order of the people. The constitution makers had just made the constitution. Then they changed the constitution by making an ordinance and what did they do- freedom of expression was attacked. This was also an insult to the constitution makers. But they did not succeed there. Later, as soon as they got a chance, they hammered the freedom of expression. What they could not get done in the Constituent Assembly, they did it through the back door. Those who were not the leaders of the elected government did this.
PM Modi mentioned Nehru ji’s letter
PM Modi said- Nehru ji had written a letter during that time. If the constitution comes in our way, then the constitution should be changed at any cost. When there was no constitution in the country. Then Rajendra Prasad ji had warned that you are doing wrong. Then our speaker also called it wrong. Big personalities like Acharya Kripalani, Jayaprakash Narayan also called it wrong. But Nehru ji had a different constitution. That is why he did not listen to the advice of such senior great men and ignored their opinion.
‘Congress got so much greedy for the blood of constitutional amendment’
PM Modi further said that, Congress got so greedy for the blood of constitutional amendment that it kept hunting it from time to time. The constitution was changed about 75 times in six decades. After the first Prime Minister of the country, Indira Gandhi committed a sin. She overturned the decision of the Supreme Court in 1975. The courts were stripped of their rights. There was no one to stop her. So when Indira ji’s election was rejected by the court and she had to resign from the post of MP, she imposed emergency on the country in anger. To save her chair and after that in 1975 she made the 39th amendment and what did she do in it – no one can go to the court against the election of the President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Speaker, made such a rule and implemented it for the past as well.
PM attacks Nehru, Indira and Rajiv
PM Modi further said – This tradition did not stop here, what Nehru had started, which Indira Gandhi took forward, due to this the government of Rajiv Gandhi snatched the right from the old woman who was given the right by the court. Rajiv Gandhi rejected the sentiments of Shah Bano, the sentiments of the court, he crushed the constitution. He did not support an old woman for justice but went with the fundamentalists, overturned the decision of the Supreme Court. But the matter did not stop here. The blood of messing with the constitution was on his face.
Mention of former PM Manmohan Singh
In his speech, PM Modi said- The statement of the Prime Minister who was before me was written in a book. I have to accept that the party president is the centre of power. The government is accountable to the party. For the first time in history, an unconstitutional and unsworn National Advisory Council was placed above the elected Prime Minister, above the PMO.
PM Modi’s attack on Rahul Gandhi
PM Modi further said- Not only this, if we move a generation ahead, then that generation, under the Constitution of India, the people of the country elect the government of the country. The head of that government forms the cabinet. The decision that this cabinet took. The arrogant people who insulted the Constitution tore that decision of the cabinet in front of journalists and cameras. Messing with the Constitution, not accepting it, had become their habit. And look at the misfortune – an arrogant person tears the decision of the cabinet and the cabinet changes its decision. What kind of system was that ?
