Big reshuffle in Congress, Bhupesh Baghel becomes general secretary of Punjab and Ajay Lallu given responsibility of Odisha

A major reshuffle has been done at the organizational level in the Congress. The party has entrusted Bhupesh Baghel with the responsibility of Punjab General Secretary, while Syed Naseer Hussain has been made the General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir.

A major reshuffle has been done at the organisational level in the Congress. Under this change, the party has entrusted Bhupesh Baghel with the responsibility of Punjab General Secretary, while Syed Naseer Hussain has been made the General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir. Along with this, Naseer Hussain has been relieved from the office of Congress President.

A major reshuffle has been done at the organisational level in the Congress. Under this change, the party has entrusted Bhupesh Baghel with the responsibility of General Secretary of Punjab, while Syed Naseer Hussain has been made the General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir. Along with this, Naseer Hussain has been relieved from the office of Congress President.

The Congress has appointed Rajni Patil as in-charge of Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, BK Hariprasad as in-charge of Haryana, Harish Chaudhary as in-charge of Madhya Pradesh and Ajay Lallu as in-charge of Odisha. Apart from this, Girish has been appointed in-charge of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, K Raju as in-charge of Jharkhand, Meenakshi Natarajan as in-charge of Telangana, Saptagiri Shankar Ulka as in-charge of Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim and Nagaland and Krishna Allavaru as in-charge of Bihar.

In the press release issued by the Congress, it has been said that the party appreciates the contribution of these general secretaries/in-charges. It has also been said that other general secretaries and in-charges will continue to work in their current responsibilities.

Why are these changes important?

This organisational change of Congress is being considered important. Through this, an attempt is being made to strengthen the party in various states and to sharpen the election strategy.
