Maha Kumbh: A dip of faith at the Sangam shore… A flood of devotees, devotees gathered on Maha Shivratri; amazing pictures

There is a huge crowd of devotees on the last bathing festival of Mahashivratri in Maha Kumbh. On the last day of Maha Kumbh, a large number of devotees are reaching the pilgrimage city for the holy bath. More than two crore devotees are expected to reach today.

Without waiting for the auspicious time, devotees are taking the holy dip since midnight. People are seen everywhere on the roads leading to Sangam. All the roads are jam packed with the crowd of devotees.

There is a huge crowd on many routes from Triveni Dam and other routes connected to Sangam. The nectar-like drops of faith, devotion and belief have once again become one at Sangam.

According to the Mela administration, by 8 pm on Tuesday night, more than 1.30 crore devotees had taken the holy dip. The situation is such that by 6 am on Wednesday morning, more than 40 lakh people had taken a holy dip.

With this, the total number of bathers has crossed 65 crores. Till Tuesday, 64.77 crore people had taken bath. The fair administration has made special preparations for the arrival of about two crore devotees for Mahashivratri and the last bath of Maha Kumbh.

Flowers were showered from helicopters on the devotees who came to bathe at Sangam on Mahashivratri. Bathers are seen everywhere on the banks of Sangam. Crowds of devotees carrying bundles on their heads and bags on their shoulders are moving towards Sangam.

The atmosphere was filled with devotion by lakhs of devotees chanting Jai Ganga Maiya, Har Har Mahadev and Jai Shri Ram all along the way. There was no space left for a single inch from Sangam to the city amidst the waves of faith and devotion.

Almost half of the country’s population took a dip
In terms of numbers, crores of devotees of Sanatan Dharma from not only India but across the world have taken a dip in the Maha Kumbh held at the holy place Prayagraj. If the number of bathers is compared with the total population of the country, then according to this also, about 50 percent of India has taken a dip in the Triveni Sangam.

If we talk about the followers of Sanatan Dharma, then more than 60 percent of the country’s and about 55 percent of the world’s Sanatani devotees have taken the holy bath. Devotees from all over the world have gathered to take a holy dip in this 45-day long event.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was seen active since morning on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, the last bathing festival of Maha Kumbh. Like all the past Amrit Snan and Snan Parv, the Chief Minister reached the control room at four in the morning to see the arrangements.
