BCCI Secretary Jay Shah elected unopposed as ICC President, will assume office from December 1.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah has been elected the next President of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Jay Shah, who has been handling the BCCI since October 2019, will take over as ICC Chairman from December 1, 2024.

According to the ICC, Jai Shah was the only candidate who filed nomination for the post and has been elected unopposed as the next president. Barclay withdrew from the race for a third term after his term ended on November 30, leading to speculation about Jai Shah’s future in the sport’s global governing body. Shah is considered one of the most influential faces on the ICC board. He was currently heading the ICC’s powerful Finance and Commercial Affairs sub-committee.
