    Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thurdsay June 5, 2025 attended the closing ceremony of the two-day Budhalpen Karsaad and Mandri Mahotsav 2025 organised at Sambalpur High School Karathi in Kanker district as the chief guest. This festival is an important event to preserve the traditional tribal culture and traditions of the region.

    On the occasion, the Chief Minister prayed to Budhadev, the revered deity of the tribal society, and wished for the happiness and prosperity of the state. He said that this festival is a celebration of the tradition and cultural heritage of our ancestors, which is a medium to connect the new generation with their roots. Congratulating the organisers, the Chief Minister said that today is also World Environment Day. Under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign being run by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he appealed to all the people to plant a tree in the name of their mother.

    In the program, Chief Minister Sai announced Rs 25 lakh each for the construction of the building of Gondwana Samaj in Bhanupratappur and Durgukandal, Rs 10 lakh each for the construction of sheds in 12 parganas of Gondwana Samaj, Rs 5 lakh each for the construction of sheds in 5 circles, and the construction of the building of Gram Panchayat Sambalpur.

    The Chief Minister said that after the formation of the government in Chhattisgarh, 18 lakh houses were approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, out of which 3 lakh people have also been given Griha Pravesh by Prime Minister Modi.

    CM informed that many innovations like Mahtari Vandan Yojana, Chief Minister Teerth Yatra Yojana, Tendu Patta Bonus Yojana, Sushasan Tihar, Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh Yojana, PM Janman Yojana and Home Stay Yojana have been implemented for the economic empowerment of women in the state.

    The Chief Minister informed that so far Atal Digital Seva Kendras (Common Service Centers) have been opened in 1460 Gram Panchayats with the aim of providing banking facilities in villages. In the coming time, Atal Digital Seva Kendras will be started in every Panchayat.

    In the program, the Chief Minister handed over a cheque of Rs 75 lakh to Collector Nilesh Kumar Mahadev Kshirsagar as an incentive to the aspiring development blocks by NITI Aayog. On this occasion, the Chief Minister honored talented students and launched the Mawa Modol Manthan Yojana. Through this scheme, employment-oriented training will be given to the youth according to their interest. The Chief Minister also honored five TB-free Gram Panchayats of the district.

    The program was also addressed by Kanker MP Bhojraj Nag, Antagarh MLA Vikram Usendi, Bhanupratappur MLA Savitri Mandavi and Kanker MLA Asharam Netam. All the speakers described this event as a commendable effort towards keeping the tribal culture alive. Colourful cultural programmes were presented in the festival under the chairmanship of Harish Chandra Kawade, President of Gondwana Samaj Coordination Committee Bhanupratappur.

    Young men and women dressed in traditional costumes gave wonderful performances of folk dances, due to which the entire campus got enthrolled by the different colors of the festival.

    On the occasion, District Panchayat President Kiran Nareti, Chairman of Fisheries Welfare Board Bharat Matiara, former MP Mohan Mandavi, former MLA Devlal Dugga and Sumitra Markole, senior officials and a large number of villagers, public representatives and students were present.
