Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. He expressed deep concern over the military conflict in the region and reiterated his call for dialogue and diplomacy to immediately reduce tensions. PM Modi sought the restoration of regional peace, security and stability.

America has entered the ongoing war between Israel and Iran. US Air Force’s B-2 bomber planes carried out massive air strikes on three major nuclear installations of Iran last night.

A few hours after this incident, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian over the phone. PM Modi gave this information through X post. He wrote, ‘I spoke to Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian. We discussed the current situation in detail.

I expressed deep concern over the military conflict and reiterated my call to adopt the path of dialogue and diplomacy to immediately reduce tensions.

I demanded the early restoration of regional peace, security and stability.’Iranian Foreign Minister Saeed Abbas Araghchi on Sunday condemned the US for carrying out air strikes on Iran’s nuclear installations and called it a serious violation of international law, United Nation Charter and Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

In a strongly worded statement posted on X, Araghchi accused the United States, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, of committing “criminal acts” by targeting peaceful nuclear installations. “This morning’s events are provocative and will have long-term consequences,” the Iranian foreign minister said in a post.

Every member of the United Nations should be concerned about this extremely dangerous, lawless and criminal behavior.’ Citing provisions of the UN Charter, Araghchi also said that Iran reserves all options to exercise its right to self-defense. Moments after the foreign minister’s post, Iran’s Foreign Ministry also strongly condemned the attacks, calling them a direct assault on its sovereignty and called on the United Nations Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to take immediate action.

Iran declared that it will respond with full force to protect its sovereignty. It also criticised the IAEA and alleged that the organisation favours ‘warmongers’. Tehran warned that the international community’s silence in the face of US actions would lead to ‘unprecedented and widespread danger’. It also said that the global community should not forget that it is the US which started the war against Iran during the ongoing diplomatic process. Calling on the nation to convene an emergency session, Iran said that the US is acting outside international norms. Targeting Israel, Iran said that the US is helping ‘a genocidal, occupier regime’ with its actions.

This statement comes after the US military operation in which its B-2 bombers targeted three major Iranian nuclear sites: Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan last night. Trump described the US attacks on Iran as a great success. Speaking to the media, Trump confirmed that six bunker buster bombs were dropped on Iran’s Fordo nuclear site. American news presenter Sean Patrick Hannity said that 30 Tomahawk missiles fired from US submarines located 400 miles away targeted Iran’s Natanz and Isfahan nuclear sites.
