Education is on top priority in Chhattisgarh: Bilaspur will be developed as a Modern Education City with the cost of Rs 100 crores – Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is giving top priority to quality education and all-round development of students. In this sequence, a historic initiative is being taken towards developing Bilaspur city as a modern educational hub. The concept of Educational City has been developed in Bilaspur on the guidelines of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.

The use of about 13 acres of land of Bilaspur Municipal Corporation is proposed for this project.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that Nalanda campus will be established in Bilaspur Educational City, where 500 students will be able to sit together and take advantage of physical and digital library. Along with this, three multi-storey buildings will be constructed, in which a total of 48 hall setups (1 hall, 2 rooms and 1 washroom in 1 setup) will be prepared. In this system, there will be a facility for 4,800 students to attend coaching classes simultaneously.

A modern auditorium with 700 seats will also be constructed for the educational and personality development of the students. At the same time, hostel facility will also be built for about 1000 students coming from outside.

To promote sports and health, astroturf playgrounds and beautiful gardens will also be developed all around the Educational City.

Besides , there will be a multi-level parking arrangement for vehicles so that there is no inconvenience in coming and going.

Chief Minister Sai said that the estimated cost of this ambitious project will be around Rs 100 crore and the action plan for its construction work has been prepared by the Municipal Corporation Bilaspur. The construction work will start soon, owing to that Bilaspur Educational City will set a new example in the field of education in the state.

It is worth mentioning that after the formation of the state, Bilaspur city has made remarkable progress in the field of education. SECL headquarters and DRM office of Railways are also located in Bilaspur, due to which this city is making its unique identity not only in Chhattisgarh but in the entire country. There is a central university, two universities, eight colleges, more than 100 coaching institutes preparing for prestigious exams like Public Service Commission, Vyapam and IIT, in which more than 50,000 students of the state are studying.
