In Short
Priority is being given to infrastructure development under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai
Public Works Department issued approval after approval of Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw
Raipur: The Public Works Department of Chhattisgarh Government has given administrative approval of Rs 59 crore 55 lakh 27 thousand for the reconstruction of Koni-Mopka bypass of Bilaspur district. This approval has been given under the budget provision of the financial year 2025-26.
The condition of this road, about 14 km long, was very pathetic for the last several years. Heavy pressure of dense urban traffic along with NTPC Sipat, sponge iron factories, coal washery and other industrial areas passes through this route, due to which the road was highly damaged. Its reconstruction was being demanded by citizens and public representatives for a long time.
The state government led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai gave priority to this project in the budget. The Chief Minister has clarified that infrastructure development, especially the strength and quality of roads, is among the top priorities of the state government. Any kind of laxity in such works related to public facilities will not be acceptable.
After the approval of Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Arun Saw, the department has issued a circular regarding financial approval from the ministry level to the Chief Engineer. Along with this, instructions have been given to complete the construction work within the time limit and in accordance with the quality standards.
Deputy CM Saw said that no negligence will be tolerated in the quality of construction material, transparency of work process and monitoring system. He has directed the officials to ensure continuous monitoring of the entire project and strict action should be taken by fixing accountability if any error is found in the construction work at any level.
The reconstruction of this bypass will not only facilitate movement in industrial areas, but will also provide relief to the city dwellers from heavy traffic. This decision of the state government reflects the sensitivity and responsibility of the government towards the long-awaited demand of the common people.
The Public Works Department will soon issue the work order and start the construction process. The government intends that this project should be completed with high quality, transparency and within the stipulated time frame, so that quick and permanent relief can be provided to the citizens.
