Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will honor the Swachhata didis who have made Chhattisgarh proud at the national level by washing their feet in ‘Swachhata Sangam-2025’ to be organised by Urban Administration and Development Department on Tuesday August12 , 2025 in Bilaspur district.
On this occasion, he will also honor the urban bodies that have performed excellently in Swachh Survekshan-2024-25. Chief Minister Sai will inaugurate and perform Bhoomi Pujan of development works worth more than Rs 260 crore at the Indoor Stadium in Bahtarai, Bilaspur on August 12.
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Tokhan Sahu, MLAs Dharamlal Kaushik, Amar Agarwal, Dharmjit Singh, Dilip Lahariya, Sushant Shukla and Atal Srivastava and Bilaspur Mayor Pooja Vidhani will be present at the program.
Nine thousand Swachhata Didi have been invited to the ‘Swachhata Sangam’, including Mayors, Chairpersons, Health Department in-charge members of all Municipal Corporations of the state, Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Health Department in-charge members of Municipal Corporations and Nagar Panchayats, Corporation Commissioners, Chief Municipal Officers, Senior Engineers of Urban Bodies and Nodal Officers of Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban).
Secretary of Urban Administration and Development Department Dr. Basavaraju S. said that in the ‘Swachhata Sangam’, the Swachhata Didi who have made a significant contribution in making the cities clean and beautiful will be honored by washing their feet.
Seven urban bodies which have performed excellently in Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 have got the honour of being awarded from the hands of President Draupadi Murmu in New Delhi. Along with these urban bodies, more than 30 urban bodies which have performed best at the division level will also be honoured in the programme.
A state level competition will be launched in Swachhata Sangam to raise the standards of cleanliness and urban beautification in urban bodies. Through this competition, along with strengthening urban cleanliness, improvement in administrative skills through good governance and urban beautification will be encouraged. This initiative will not only help in making the cities clean and beautiful, but will also enhance the quality of life of the citizens. It will inspire the public representatives, officials and citizens of every urban body to recognise their capabilities in the field of cleanliness and urban beautification and to improve them further.
In the program, GIS based property tax live portal will be inaugurated for the facility of online payment of property tax in three municipal corporations—Birgaon, Bhilai-Charoda and Dhamtari—and 43 municipalities.
Thus, the launch of the facility of online payment of property tax in 46 cities simultaneously is an important step towards modernising local self-governance and providing facilities to the citizens at home. This will also increase the speed of tax collection.
Chief Minister Sai will inaugurate 24 works worth Rs 63.57 crore, will perform Bhoomi Pujan of 25 works worth Rs 197 crore
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will inaugurate and perform Bhoomi Pujan of development works worth more than Rs 260 crore on the occasion of ‘Swachhata Sangam’. Under this, he will inaugurate 24 construction and development works of various departments worth more than Rs 63 crore 57 lakh in Bilaspur district and will perform Bhoomi Pujan of 25 works worth more than Rs 197 crore. In the program, he will also distribute material and cheques to the beneficiaries of various schemes.
Chief Minister Shri Sai will inaugurate the commercial complex constructed at a cost of Rs 3 crore 85 lakh at Nutan Chowk in Bilaspur, STP at Koni at a cost of Rs 9 crore 5 lakh, girls hostel of Government Engineering College at a cost of Rs 4 crore 82 lakh, 3.6 km long Nagoi Basti to Modeh Naka road constructed at a cost of Rs 6 crore 29 lakh, widening, strengthening and asphalting work of seven km long Uslapur-Daija road at a cost of Rs 12 crore 53 lakh and two-lane road construction work from Mangala Bhainsajhar to Deendayal Colony Lokhandi railway gate of three and a half km length at a cost of Rs 5 crore 45 lakh. Along with this, he will also launch the Nal-Jal Yojana under Jal Jeevan Mission in 11 villages of Bilaspur district.
Chief Minister Sai will perform Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of Nalanda Campus and Academic Block under Education Hub at a cost of Rs. 26 crore 42 lakhs at Dayalband, and Gaurav Path from Ashok Nagar Chowk to Birkora Mor at a cost of Rs. 17 crores under the Chief Minister Nagarotthan Yojana. Apart from this, he will perform Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of Atal Path from Arpa Indrasetu to Ram Setu at a cost of Rs. 9 crore 74 lakhs under the Chief Minister Nagarotthan Yojana, and road construction from Mangala Chowk to Azad Chowk at a cost of Rs. 5 crore 9 lakhs.
Chief Minister Sai will perform the bhoomi pujan of high level bridge on Arpa river on Shanichari-Chantidih road at the cost of Rs 11 crore 56 lakh, bridge on Maniyari river between Takhatpur-Barela at the cost of Rs 3 crore 76 lakh, upgradation work of water supply system operating in Bahtarai, Rajkishore Nagar, Lingiyadih, Deorikhurd and Sirgitti at the cost of Rs 9 crore 90 lakh, strengthening work of 12.6 km long Butena-Dhaunrabhata road at the cost of Rs 34 crore 16 lakh, English medium Adarsh Mahavidyalaya building at the cost of Rs 10 crore and auditorium to be built in Bilaspur at the cost of Rs 22 crore 22 lakh.
Apart from this, he will perform the bhoomi pujan for the construction of an anicut at the cost of Rs 6.81 crore in Vijaypur and a two and a half kilometer long road including a culvert on Sarar drain between Son to Sonsari subridera in Bilaspur district at a cost of Rs 7.96 crore, as well as various works of Municipal Corporation, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Public Works Department, Rural Mechanical Services and Panchayat and Rural Development Department.
