Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated the institution on this achievement, stating that Chhattisgarh is witnessing a steady rise in startup activity. “This award will encourage the rapidly evolving industrial environment of the state. It is a matter of pride for Chhattisgarh that NIT Raipur Foundation for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is receiving the prestigious National Incubator Award,” he said.

The Chief Minister further emphasised that NIT Raipur-FIE’s technology-driven initiatives for nurturing startups and promoting entrepreneurship will significantly contribute to the state’s economic growth and establish Chhattisgarh as a hub of innovation. He extended best wishes to the entire team, expressing confidence that the institute will continue empowering youth, fostering self-reliance, and advancing technological progress.

NIT Raipur Director Dr. N. V. Ramana Rao said that the National Incubator Award is a testimony to the institute’s commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship. He noted that FIE has been consistently working to build a strong ecosystem that supports tech-driven startups and helps them evolve into successful enterprises. “This achievement inspires us to further strengthen our support for the new generation of entrepreneurs,” he added.

Notably, NIT Raipur-FIE was established in March 2021 as a non-profit organization and serves as the technology business incubator of NIT Raipur. It operates under the Department of Science and Technology’s (DST) National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI) scheme. To date, the institution has supported more than 35 startups in Chhattisgarh. Some of these ventures are engaged in governance and medical device manufacturing, while others are working in areas such as analytics, deep-tech, clean-tech, and information and communication technology (ICT).

The NIT Raipur FIE is being led by Director Dr. N. V. Ramana Rao and Career Development Centre head Dr. Sameer Bajpai. The operational team includes Dr. Anuj Kumar Shukla (Faculty In-Charge), Mr. Pawan Kataria (Officer In-Charge), and CEO Mrs. Medha Singh. With its comprehensive support to technology startups—from ideation and company formation to technical mentoring—FIE has emerged as a strong pillar in India’s startup ecosystem. Any young aspirant from Chhattisgarh wishing to launch a startup can approach NIT Raipur FIE for support.
