Raipur: It is a moment of immense pride for Chhattisgarh that 12 metric tons of Fortified Rice Kernels (FRK) have been exported from the state to Costa Rica.

Chief Minister Vishnu deo Sai, on this achievement, said that Chhattisgarh’s identity is not only being strengthened on the global stage, but the state’s reputation in the fields of nutrition, quality, and prosperity is also reaching new heights.

Chief Minister Sai said that this achievement is an extension of the campaign launched against malnutrition under the guidance of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is now showing impact globally.

Chief Minister Sai said that this is a commendable step that will open new opportunities for our farmers, mill operators, and exporters in the global market and promote value-added agricultural exports. It is also an important achievement towards a self-reliant India and a self-reliant Chhattisgarh.

Fortified Rice Kernels (FRK) are enriched with essential nutrients like iron, folic acid, and vitamin B12. This initiative not only strengthens food security but also improves the nutritional status of society. Chhattisgarh’s products are now emerging as “symbols of nutrition” in the global market.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai described this achievement as a historic step towards “Self-Reliant India and Self-Reliant Chhattisgarh,” saying that this export is the result of the hard work, quality, and dedication of Chhattisgarh’s farmers, mill operators, and industries.

Today, Chhattisgarh is not only India’s food provider, but is also becoming a global brand of nutrition, innovation, and quality. This is a proud moment, positioning our state as a leader in both global trade and the nutrition mission.

Chief Minister Sai said that this success will not only bring the economic prosperity to the state but will also provide new energy to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Malnutrition-Free India” and a “Self-Reliant India.”

It is worth mentioning that Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal has informed through a post on his social media handle that the first consignment of 12 metric tonnes of fortified rice kernels has been exported from Chhattisgarh to Costa Rica. He said that taking forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaign against malnutrition, this global effort not only strengthens our foreign trade but also provides new energy to our nutrition mission.

This initiative provides opportunities to our farmers, mill operators and exporters to access new markets, better price realisation and boost export of value-added agricultural products.
