Kevadiya Comes Alive with the Flavours of Chhattisgarh:At Ekta Nagar, the essence of Chhattisgarh’s tourism and culture resonates

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visits the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Pavilion

Raipur: The spirit of Chhattisgarh captivated visitors at Bharat Parv, organised in Ekta Nagar, Kevadiya, Gujarat, to mark the 150th birth anniversary year of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The pavilion set up by the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board emerged as one of the highlights of the national celebration, drawing large crowds eager to experience the state’s cultural and natural richness.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao visited on Tuesday November 11, 2025 the Bharat Parv venue and interacted with officers from the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, who briefed them on the state’s prominent tourist destinations and upcoming initiatives.

“Chhattisgarh’s natural beauty, traditions, and folk art have carved out a unique identity across India,” said Chief Minister Sai. “The state is fast emerging as one of the country’s most promising tourism destinations.”

During the event, the Chief Minister visited the Studio Kitchen operated by the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Raipur.

There, students presented a spread of traditional delicacies including Aamari Sharbat, Karil Kebab, Chousela Roti, Bafauri, and Phara. The authentic flavours offered visitors a taste of Chhattisgarh’s rich culinary heritage.

Praising the students, Chief Minister Sai remarked,“These young chefs are the custodians of Chhattisgarh’s cultural legacy. Through their skill and creativity, they are enhancing the state’s prestige.”

Present on the occasion were Subodh Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister; Vivek Acharya, Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board; and Vedvrat Sirmour, General Manager.

Pride in Handicrafts and Folk Traditions

The Chief Minister also visited the stalls featuring Kosa silk textiles crafted by weavers from Ambikapur, purchasing a few items to encourage the artisans. He interacted warmly with the craftspeople and expressed appreciation for their craftsmanship.

He also met with Chhattisgarh’s cultural troupe performing at Bharat Parv, commending them for representing the state on a national platform, “Our art, attire, and folk dances are integral to Chhattisgarh’s identity,” said the Chief Minister. “Our aim is to showcase these traditions more prominently on the national stage.”

Visitors thronged the Chhattisgarh pavilion to witness live demonstrations of traditional handicrafts, folk dances, and culinary artistry. The pavilion offered glimpses of the state’s tourist destinations, cultural wealth, and vibrant heritage — leaving audiences from across India deeply impressed by its authenticity and charm.
