An Example of Responsive Governance: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Resolves Issues on the Spot during Jan Darshan

Raipur: In a democracy, direct dialogue between the government and the people is the true test of good governance.

Through ‘Jan Darshan’, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai is not only listening to the hardships of the people standing at the last mile, but is also understanding the problems and ensuring solutions on the spot.

This sensitive and prompt approach towards people’s needs, demands and hardships clearly establishes that sensitivity lies at the core of good governance.

When public aspirations find direction through the Chief Minister’s empathy, the concept of Antyodaya truly takes shape.

The Jan Darshan organised on Thursday January 8 , 2026 at the Chief Minister’s official residence-cum-office in the state capital Raipur emerged as a living example of service, sensitivity and solutions.

A total of 1,950 applications were received during the Jan Darshan. Chief Minister Sai listened seriously to the problems of citizens who had come from far-flung areas of the state and issued clear instructions to the concerned officials on the spot for their redressal.

Immediate financial assistance was approved for several needy individuals, further reinforcing the message that resolving issues related to public welfare is the highest priority of the state government.

Path to Self-reliance for Persons with Disabilities: Mobility Restored to Life

On this occasion of Jan Darshan rekindled new hope in the lives of several persons with disabilities. Battery-operated tricycles were provided by the Chief Minister to Jeevan Das Manikpuri, a resident of Khamtarai, Raipur, and Bharat Sahu from Arang.

On receiving the tricycles, the smile of self-reliance was clearly visible on their faces. They will now no longer have to depend on others for mobility. Similarly, tricycles and wheelchairs were provided to Chandu Yadav and Suman Sahu of Raipur.

Meanwhile, hearing aids were immediately provided to Sagar Nayak and Umesh Patel, who had lost their hearing ability, enabling them to hear the sounds of the world once again.

Paralysis Patient Basanti Receives Rs 5 Lakh Assistance for Treatment

A major hope of Basanti Sao from village Badetemari in Mahasamund district was fulfilled during Jan Darshan. Suffering from paralysis in her legs, Basanti informed the Chief Minister about her need for financial assistance for treatment and her family circumstances. Displaying humane sensitivity, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai immediately instructed officials and got an amount of Rs 5 lakh sanctioned under the Chief Minister’s Financial Assistance Scheme.

Let us inform you that Basanti had earlier also received assistance of Rs 75,000 from the government. This swift decision brought significant relief to Basanti and her family.

60-year-old Hanumant Rao to Receive Benefits of Government Schemes

During Jan Darshan, the problem of 60-year-old unmarried labourer Hanumant Rao, a resident of Tatyapara, Raipur, was also resolved on the spot. Troubled over ration card eligibility after the demise of his parents, Rao shared his plight with the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister listened attentively and directed the officials present to immediately issue a ration card, enabling him to avail the benefits of government schemes.

Immediate Assistance of Rs 20,000 Each to Three Persons with Disabilities

Chief Minister Sai provided a cheque of Rs 20,000 as immediate financial assistance to 17-year-old differently-abled Raj Sharma, a resident of Suraj Nagar Labhandi, Raipur, who is disabled in both legs. In addition, Phool Giri Goswami was given financial assistance of Rs 20,000 for his daughter’s marriage. Rs 20,000 was also immediately sanctioned by the Chief Minister as financial assistance for higher education to Omprakash Nishad, a resident of Raigarh, who is unable to walk due to physical disability.

During Jan Darshan, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that this is not merely a process of receiving applications, but a living symbol of the government’s accountability towards the common people.

He issued clear instructions to officials to ensure action on every application received during Jan Darshan with sensitivity and promptness, so that no needy citizen is forced to make unnecessary round.
