Raipur: Governor Ramen Deka on Monday January 19, 2026 administered the oath of office to the newly appointed Chief Information Commissioner of the Chhattisgarh State Information Commission, Amitabh Jain, and State Information Commissioners Umesh Kumar Agarwal and Shirish Chandra Mishra, at a ceremony held at the Chhattisgarh Mandapam in Lok Bhavan here.

Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel conducted the oath-taking ceremony.
Present at the oath-taking ceremony were Revenue, Sports and Youth Welfare, and Disaster Management Minister Tankram Verma, Skill Development, Technical Education and Employment, and Scheduled Castes Development Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb, MLA Purandar Mishra, Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Governor’s Secretary Dr. C.R. Prasanna, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Subodh Kumar Singh, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of various departments of the State Government, Acting Chairperson of the Chhattisgarh Human Rights Commission Giridhari Nayak, Commissioner of the State Information Commission Alok Chandravanshi, former Commissioners of the State Information Commission Manoj Trivedi, Ashok Agarwal, Dhanvendra Jaiswal, Secretary of the State Information Commission Neelam Nagdev Ekka, along with other dignitaries and officials.
It is worth mentioning that the newly appointed Chief Information Commissioner Amitabh Jain is a retired IAS officer and former Chief Secretary. State Information Commissioner Umesh Agarwal is also a retired IAS officer, and Shirish Chandra Mishra is associated with journalism.
