Raipur: Governor Ramen Deka attended the fourth convocation of Amity University, Chhattisgarh, as the chief guest today. He spoke at the event, held at the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur, and emphasised that the goal of development can only be achieved through good education.

The primary objective of education should not only be to earn a livelihood, but to develop the entire society through acquiring knowledge and wisdom. He emphasised that change is the law of life, and education brings many positive changes in our lives. If, through our education, we can improve the lives of those left behind in society and make their lives better, our lives will be successful and we will be able to make the most of this precious human life. Referring to the wisdom imparted by Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita, he said that we must constantly engage with our inner self to understand the difference between right and wrong.
Listening to your inner self will never allow you to do wrong, and this will bring you closer to God and self-satisfaction. Education can provide knowledge and wisdom. Life should have a purpose, and we should adopt a holistic approach to education. He said that education teaches us to improve our lifestyles by using technology. However, we should also contribute to our society, nation, and institutions.
Referring to the new education policy, he said that now you can pursue a degree of your choice at any age. He said that in the hustle and bustle of career building, we forget our passion. The purpose of life is not just to earn a living, but also to achieve happiness and self-satisfaction, so we should follow our passion.
Degrees and medals were awarded to 816 graduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students at the convocation. Mansi Madan Tripathi, President of Shell India and Senior Vice President of Shell Lubricants Asia Pacific, was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) by the University.
On this occasion, several talented students were recognized for their outstanding performance. Eight students were awarded the Shri Baljeet Shastri Award, 31 students received the Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan Award, and 20 students received gold medals. Sonal Dhomne (B.Tech. CSE) was awarded the Best All-Rounder Trophy for her outstanding performance.
Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder Chairman, Amity University, urged students to set a purpose in life and contribute to the goal of a developed India 2047. Dr. Aseem Chauhan, President, Ritnand Balved International Education Foundation and Chairman, Amity University Chhattisgarh, said that Amity has provided students with the values, attitudes, and technical skills to achieve success in life.
During this time, Registrar, faculty members, Dean, professors, students and their families were also present.
