Raipur: On the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Finance Department has approved an amount of more than Rs 132 crore for the water augmentation schemes of the Public Health Engineering Department in various urban bodies. On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Sai, the water augmentation schemes to be constructed by the Public Health Engineering Department will strengthen the water supply system in urban bodies, so that regular supply of pure drinking water is ensured to the citizens.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Finance Department has approved Rs 14 crore 66 lakh for Bhatgaon in Balodabazar district, Rs 47 crore 46 lakh for Sarangarh, Rs 17 crore 86 lakh for Champa in Janjgir-Champa district and Rs 3 crore 61 lakh for Saragaon, Rs 19 crore 75 lakh for Charama in Kanker district, Rs 24 crore 63 lakh for Katghora in Korba district and Rs 4 crore 35 lakh for Bijapur on the schemes proposed for water augmentation by the Public Health Engineering Department.
The water augmentation schemes will strengthen the water supply structure, improve the quality and distribution of water and also help in reducing the water crisis. Along with this, the health and standard of living of the citizens will also improve. These new water augmentation schemes will ensure the availability of water resources. Along with this, they will also prove to be very important for local development and the health of the citizens, said CM.
