Raipur : In a significant step towards making civic safety and emergency services more effective and technology-driven in the state capital, Raipur, the “Dial-112 Phase-2: Next Generation” service was grandly launched today at the Raipur Police Parade Ground by Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister, Vijay Sharma on Wednesday May 20, 2026 .

Deputy Chief Minister Sharma flagged off 54 new Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs), dispatching them to provide services across both the urban and rural areas.

Present on this occasion were Raipur (West) MLA Rajesh Munat, Raipur (North) MLA Purandar Mishra, District Panchayat President Naveen Agarwal, Raipur Municipal Corporation Mayor Meenal Choubey, Raipur Police Commissioner Dr. Sanjeev Shukla, Additional Police Commissioner Amit Kamble, Raipur Collector Gaurav Kumar, and Rural Superintendent of Police Shweta Sinha, along with other senior officials from the government and administration.

In his address, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma stated that the Dial-112 service, which was previously limited to only 16 districts, has now been expanded to cover all 33 districts of the state.

He informed that a total of 54 vehicles have been provided—comprising 33 ERVs for the Raipur Commissionerate area and 21 ERVs for the rural areas.

Additionally, four special highway patrolling vehicles have been deployed to provide prompt assistance on national and state highways. He further noted that all vehicles are equipped with state-of-the-art GPS systems, smart control and monitoring systems, call recording capabilities, real-time tracking, and digital communication technology, thereby ensuring a rapid response immediately upon receiving an alert, Sharma added.

Through the Dial-112 service, the objective has been set to align the police response time with national standards. The Home Minister also expressed his gratitude to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs for providing technical and strategic support for this ambitious project.

The ‘Dial-112’ service is based on the concept of “One Number—Help for All” (Ekke Number, Sabbo Bar). Under this initiative, citizens will no longer need to memorise separate numbers for various services.

By simply dialing ‘112’, one can access the benefits of all emergency services—including police assistance, the fire brigade, medical emergencies, the Women’s Helpline (1091), the Child Helpline (1098), disaster management, and highway emergencies, Deputy Chief Minister and State Home Minister Vijay Sharma remarked.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Rajesh Munat stated that Chhattisgarh is rapidly advancing towards becoming a safe and Naxal-free state, and that the next-generation model of ‘Dial-112’ will further strengthen and enhance the capabilities of the state’s emergency services.

Appeal from the Raipur Police Commissionerate

The Raipur Police Commissionerate appeals to the general public to utilise the ‘Dial-112’ service immediately and without any hesitation in the event of any sudden incident, emergency, or crisis situation.

The Raipur Police remains committed and ready, around the clock, to ensure the safety, assistance, and prompt service of its citizens.
