Raipur: Chhattisgarh is set to make another land-related revenue service available digitally, with citizens soon being able to apply online for changing the category of land that has already been converted earlier.
A dedicated online module for the change of category of previously converted land has been developed and will be made live on the Revenue Department portal from Monday. Once the facility becomes operational, citizens will be able to submit their applications online through ‘Seva Setu’.
The move is expected to make the application process more accessible and convenient while providing citizens with a digital option for completing a procedure that has so far required submission through the existing system.
Offline Applications to Continue During Transition
The State Government has clarified that the introduction of the online facility does not mean that the existing offline application process has been stopped.
Until the new online module goes live, citizens can continue submitting their applications offline at the concerned office in accordance with the existing procedure.
The clarification ensures that applicants are not inconvenienced during the transition from the existing arrangement to the new digital system and that applications continue to be processed without interruption.
In connection with the implementation of the new facility, the SDM office in Raipur was inspected. During the inspection, cases and records relating to such applications were examined.
Officials were instructed that until the online facility is implemented, applications must continue to be accepted offline as per the existing procedure by the concerned court under the e-Court system.
The new module will provide citizens with an additional digital route for submitting applications once it becomes operational. The arrangement is also intended to ensure continuity of service, with the offline mechanism remaining available until the online system is formally launched.
With the service becoming available through Seva Setu, applicants will be able to initiate the process online instead of depending solely on physical submission at government offices.
The State Government’s decision to keep the offline facility operational during the transition also means that citizens with pending requirements need not wait for the online module to become available and can continue using the existing system.
