On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami in Jagdalpur, the headquarters of the Bastar division, the Shreemad Bhagvat Mahapuran Gyan week is being organized by the Punjabi Sanatan Dharma Sabha and the Punjabi Sanatan Mahila Satsang Samiti from August 20 to August 27 at the Punjab Sanatan Bhawan in the city.
In which the story is being narrated by Acharya Govind Bhaiya Ji Maharaj who has come from Vrindavan Dham. On the fourth day of the story on Sunday, after Gopi Geet, Kansa Vadh, Rukmani Vivah, a grand procession was taken out in Nanagar. It started from Geeta Bhavan of the city and passed through Danteshwari Temple, Gol Bazar, State Bank Chowk, Chandni Chowk, Panama Chowk, Agrasen Chowk and ended at Punjab Sanatan Bhavan.
During this time, the children of the society, men and women, came out dancing to the tune of DJ drums in an attractive tableau, chanting slogans in praise of Lord Krishna. The story of Shri Krishna, Sudama, Charitra, Parikshit and Moksha was narrated on Monday in the Katha and the grand birth anniversary of Shri Krishna was celebrated at midnight on Janmashtami and on the last day of the Katha, on Tuesday, after the completion of the Havan, a Mahaprasad Bhandara will be organised.
