Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today on Saturday March 28, 2026 graced a mass marriage ceremony organised under the ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana’ (Chief Minister’s Daughters’ Marriage Scheme) at the Ranjita Stadium in Jashpur, where the marriages of 240 newlywed couples were duly solemnised.
Upon arriving at the marriage pavilion, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai personally approached the newlyweds, offering them his blessings and wishing them a happy, prosperous, and auspicious married life.
The atmosphere of the event was imbued with traditional customs, Vedic Mantra chants, and a spirit of social unity.
In his address, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the state government is continuously working towards the welfare of women and economically weaker families. He noted that the ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana’ has emerged as a significant pillar of support for poor and needy families. By providing assistance for the marriages of daughters from economically weaker backgrounds, this scheme effectively alleviates the financial burden on their parents.
The Chief Minister remarked that events such as mass marriages not only curb unnecessary expenditures but also foster unity and harmony within society. He added that, through this scheme, thousands of families have received relief, and their anxieties regarding their daughters’ marriages have been significantly alleviated.
At this mass marriage ceremony, 240 couples from diverse communities tied the knot together, thereby conveying a powerful message of social harmony and unity. Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana,’ each couple receives total assistance amounting to ₹50,000; of this, a sum of ₹35,000 is disbursed directly to the beneficiary via a cheque, while approximately ₹7,000 is utilized for providing matrimonial gifts and essentials, and ₹8,000 is allocated towards organizational expenses.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai distributed cheques worth ₹35,000 to the newlyweds and extended his best wishes for their blissful married life.
During the mass marriage ceremony, the weddings were solemnised in accordance with Vedic Mantras , rituals and rites, conducted by members of the Gayatri Pariwar.
During the program, marriage certificates and gift items were also presented to the newlywed couples. Public representatives present on this occasion extended their best wishes to the newlyweds and lauded the initiative.
This event served not merely as a social gathering, but also stood as a symbol of the administration’s welfare-oriented philosophy and its sensitivity towards the vulnerable sections of society, the CM added.
Present on this occasion were Rampratap Singh (Chairman, Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board), Salik Sai (District Panchayat President), Arvind Bhagat (Municipal Council President), Yash Pratap Singh Judev (Municipal Council Vice-President), Shaurya Pratap Singh Judev (District Panchayat Vice-President), Gangaram Bhagat (Janpad Panchayat President, Jashpur), Vijay Aditya Singh Judev, Narendra Dugga (Surguja Commissioner), Deepak Kumar Jha (IG), Rohit Vyas (Collector), Lal Umed Singh (Senior Superintendent of Police), Shashikumar (Divisional Forest Officer), and Abhishek Kumar (District Panchayat CEO), alongside local public representatives, government officials, and other dignitaries.
