A Villager’s Invitation, the Chief Minister’s Warmth—A Dream Realised Through the PM Awas Yojana; CM Presides Over Housewarming Ceremony

CM Sai Asks, “Who Sent the House?” Mohan Replies, “Modi Ji Did.”

Raipur: An extremely emotional, heartfelt, and socially significant scene unfolded yesterday in the village of Lokhan in the Kabirdham district, as Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai not only accepted a simple invitation from an ordinary villager but, through his demeanor, transformed it into a truly memorable moment. While the Chief Minister’s arrival in the village created an atmosphere of excitement and curiosity, the entire sequence of events also vividly demonstrated the warm, personal bonds that exist between the administration and the common people.

Today marked the Griha Pravesh (housewarming) ceremony for the new, sturdy home of Mohan Maravi, a resident of Lokhan village. As soon as he learned that the Chief Minister was visiting the village, Mohan wasted no time; he went directly to the CM and extended an invitation to visit his home.

It was an extraordinary, love-filled request from a villager—one that the Chief Minister accepted with equal ease and humility, making the occasion truly special by personally visiting the home.

Upon the Chief Minister’s arrival at Mohan Maravi’s residence, a warm, family-like atmosphere immediately took hold. Dispensing with all formalities, and with immense affection and warmth, he broke a coconut, lit a ceremonial lamp, and presided over the housewarming rituals with due religious rites.

The expressions of contentment, pride, and joy visible on the faces of the family members during this time served as a testament to the fact that their dream home had finally become a reality. The villagers gathered nearby also watched the moment with enthusiasm and expressed their deep appreciation for the Chief Minister’s simplicity and humble demeanor.

During this heartfelt interaction, the Chief Minister smiled and asked Mohan, “Who sent you this house?” To this, Mohan replied with natural ease, “Modi Ji did.”

This brief exchange imbued the entire atmosphere with emotional depth, serving as a powerful illustration of how the implementation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Guarantees” is directly infusing hope and confidence into the lives of the people. Chief Minister Sai engaged in a detailed conversation with Mohan Maravi and his family, inquiring about the process behind the construction of their new home.

Mohan explained that his house was built using funds received under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, combined with his own hard work. Previously, his home was a kaccha (temporary/mud) structure; however, after his housing grant was sanctioned during the 2024–25 fiscal year, he found the inspiration to build a pakka (permanent/concrete) house.

Despite limited resources, he personally molded the bricks and erected a sturdy, well-organised four-room home—a true testament to his labor, determination, and self-reliance.

The Chief Minister wholeheartedly praised the quality and structure of the house, as well as the sheer hard work evident in every detail.

He remarked that the true essence of development becomes apparent only when government schemes genuinely reach the last person in society and are complemented by the people’s own labor and active participation.

Describing this initiative as an exemplary model of self-reliance, public participation, and positive change, he stated that such efforts serve to strengthen the very foundation of the state’s holistic development.

Mohan Maravi further shared that he received the funds under the scheme in three installments, which he utilised with complete responsibility and prudence. As a result, he was able to construct a safe and dignified permanent home for his family.

Extending his heartfelt congratulations to the entire family on their new home, the Chief Minister wished them a bright future. He also highlighted this achievement as an inspiring example for the entire village—one that conveys the powerful message that through the synergy of determination, hard work, and government schemes, any dream can be realised.
