New Delhi: After resigning from the post of Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal will vacate his government residence. Aam Aadmi Party had already given this information. In his place Atishi will take oath as Chief Minister in Delhi. In such a situation, the big question is where will Arvind Kejriwal live after vacating the Chief Minister’s residence? Regarding this, Aam Aadmi Party has demanded a new government house.
The party said that as the head of the national party, it is his right and it is not a facility but a resource. The party will demand this in writing from the central government.
AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha raised this demand by holding a press conference on Friday September 20 . He said that all the national parties in the country get two resources from the central government, first they are given an office space in the country’s capital Delhi and secondly, the national president or national convenor of the national party is provided government accommodation.
Raghav Chadha said that all the national presidents of other national parties including BJP, Congress, BSP have got government accommodation in Delhi. Till now Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has not got a house. Raghav Chadha said, ‘We demand from the central government that the national convenor of Aam Aadmi Party, who is Arvind Kejriwal, should be provided a government accommodation.’
When asked whether former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will stay in the Civil Lines residence till he gets a government accommodation, Raghav Chadha said that no, he will soon give up all the facilities he gets as CM. But being the national convenor of a national party, he should legally get the facility of government accommodation. This is the provision of the Election Commission.
