Abujhmad becomes Naxal-free – A new era of peace and development in Bastar: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

In Short

Violence leads to endless pain, surrender gives life a new direction – Chief Minister Sai

The Naxal-eradication campaign, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is on its way to historic success.

Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday October 16, 2025 said that the Naxal-free status of North Bastar and Abujhmad is is an evidence of that Bastar has now become a new identity of trust and development, not fear. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, India is on the threshold of the end of Naxalism.

Chief Minister Sai said that the surrender of 258 Naxalites in the last two days symbolises that the power of trust, not guns, is winning. He said that in the past 22 months, 477 Naxalites were killed in Chhattisgarh, 2,110 surrendered, and 1,785 were arrested—these figures bear witness to our unwavering resolve to make our state Naxal-free.

Chief Minister Sai said that the goal of making Chhattisgarh completely Naxal-free by March 31, 2026, is now very close. This change is a direct result of the success of the state government’s “Naxalite Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy 2025” and the “Niyad Nella Naar Scheme.” The sensitive policies of the double-engine government, the continuous establishment of security camps in Bastar, and the growing trust in the government in the forest areas have made this positive change possible. He said that so far, 64 new security camps have been established in Naxal-affected areas, which have not only strengthened security but have also brought a ray of development and trust to every village.

Chief Minister Sai, while paying tribute to the indomitable courage and sacrifice of our brave security forces, said that it is because of their dedication that Bastar is free from fear and moving on the path of peace.

Chief Minister Sai said that Abujhmad and North Bastar have been completely freed from Naxal terror, while the fight in South Bastar is in its decisive phase. Schemes like “Niyad Nella Nar” have created a new ground of dialogue, development, and compassion in Bastar.

He clearly stated that the government’s policy is clear: there is no place for violence. Naxalites who wish to choose the path of peace and development are welcome. However, those who try to spread terror in society by picking up guns will face strict action by the security forces.

The Chief Minister appealed to all Naxalites: “The path of violence brings endless suffering, while surrender opens the way to a new beginning, giving a new direction to life. For the future of your motherland and a brighter tomorrow for your families, lay down your arms and step into the light of development.”

It is noteworthy that the decisive fight against Naxalism in the country has reached a historic milestone. Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah posted on his social media handle X to inform that areas like Abujhmad and North Bastar in Chhattisgarh, once strongholds of Naxal terror, have now been declared completely Naxal-free.

He stated that this is not only a major success for India’s internal security system, but also a new story of development, trust, and compassion. In the past two days, a total of 258 Naxalites have surrendered in the country, abandoning the path of violence.

Union Home Minister Shah said that this change is proof that the power of faith in the Constitution, not the gun, is winning. Due to the continuous efforts of the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Naxalism is now on its last legs.

Union Home Minister Shah commended all the Naxalites who surrendered, saying that this step symbolises their dedication to a better future and the unity of the country. He appealed to all Naxalites to abandon the path of violence, return to the mainstream, and participate in the country’s progress.
