The issue of 104 Indians deported from America and sent to India has become a hot topic in the country and abroad. Opposition MPs are protesting against this outside the Parliament. Meanwhile, the US Border Patrol (UBSP) has released a video of illegal immigrants being sent to India by a US military plane.

US Border Patrol chief Michael W. Banks posted this video on his social media and said that USBP and partners have successfully sent illegal immigrants to India. This was the farthest flight ever from America. If you cross the border illegally, you will have to face the consequences.

Let us tell you that there is uproar in the country over the return of Indians in such a large number. Opposition leaders are protesting in the Parliament regarding this. Among the illegal immigrants deported by America, 31 are from Punjab, 30 from Haryana, 27 from Gujarat, 3 from Uttar Pradesh, 4 from Maharashtra and 2 from Chandigarh. It is being said that the US government will bear the cost of deporting the Indians.

After the deportation of Indians, the US Embassy issued a statement saying that if you cross the border illegally, you will be sent back. Strictness of immigration laws of our country is necessary for the security of America and the interests of our people. It is our policy to implement immigration laws in every possible way.

However Foreign Minister Jaishankar made a statement on this matter in Parliament at 3 pm yesterday

Both Houses erupt in protest over handcuffing and chaining of Indians; External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar says use of such restraints is a standard practice; U.S. has sent back over 15,000 Indians since 2009, says government

Amid protests from the Opposition members over the way undocumented Indian nationals  were handcuffed  and chained by the U.S. while deporting them to India, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Thursday (February 6, 2025) informed the Parliament that the deportation of illegal migrants was not a new development, and the use of restraints on the deportees was a “standard operating procedure”.

External Affair  Minister  Jaishankar said the Centre would be engaging with the U.S. government to ensure that the deportees were not mistreated in any manner while being sent back.

The External Affairs Minister made the statement as both Houses witnessed an uproar over the treatment meted out to 104 illegal Indian immigrants who landed in Amritsar on Wednesday on a U.S. military plane.
