Ne Delhi : Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued a notification for recruitment to 85 posts of Geo Scientist. Under this, there will be recruitment for the posts of Geologist, Chemist, Geophysicist etc. Interested candidates can apply online. The last date to apply is September 24, 2024.

Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Geological Science/Applied Geology/Geo-exploration/Mineral Exploration/Engineering Geology/Marine Geology.

Geophysicist Group A, Post: 06

Scientist B'(Geophysics), Group A, Post: 01

Assistant Geophysicist, Group B, Post: 11

Qualification (for all three posts): Postgraduate in Physics/Applied Physics/Geophysics/Exploration Geophysics/Marine Geophysics/Applied Geophysics.

Chemist Group A, Post: 02

Scientist B'(Chemical), Group A, Post: 01

Qualification (for both the above posts): Postgraduate in Chemistry/Applied Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry.

Scientist B’ (Hydrogeology), Group A, Posts: 13
Assistant Hydrologist, Group B, Posts: 31
Qualification (both above posts): Postgraduate in Geology/Applied Geology/Marine Geology/Hydrogeology.

Assistant Chemist, Group B, Posts: 04
Qualification: Postgraduate in Chemistry/Applied Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Physical Chemistry/Inorganic Chemistry/Organic Chemistry/Hydro Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry.

Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum less than 32 years. Age will be calculated on the basis of 01 January 2025.

● OBC category will get three years relaxation in maximum age, SC/ST category will get five years relaxation and Differently Able( Divyang ) will get 10 years relaxation.

Selection Process (UPSC Combined Geo Scientist Recruitment 2024)

● Eligible candidates will be selected on the basis of Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Interview.
