Asaram’s parole ends, reaches Jodhpur jail

Jodhpur: Asaram is serving his sentence in Jodhpur Central Jail after being convicted in the rape case of a minor girl studying in his Gurukul. Recently, Rajasthan High Court had granted parole to Asaram for Ayurvedic treatment in Maharashtra’s Madhavbagh Hospital. This parole granted to Asaram by the High Court has expired. After which today on Monday September 9 , rape convict Asaram was brought to Jodhpur by flight from Maharashtra’s Madhavbagh Hospital under tight police security. Asaram was taken to Central Jail from Jodhpur Airport via ambulance. Earlier, Asaram had filed appeals in the court several times to get his diseases treated through Ayurvedic method. Recently, Rajasthan High Court accepted Asaram’s appeal and granted him parole.

The division bench of Rajasthan High Court judge Dr. PS Bhati accepted his interim parole for 7 days of treatment, after which Asaram was taken to Maharashtra’s Madhavbagh hospital under police protection. Where he was treated, during this time he was given another 5 days’ final parole. After being convicted in the rape case, Asaram went to Madhavbagh for 12 days for treatment outside the jail after 11 years. Currently, after the parole ended, he has been shifted back to Jodhpur Central Jail. Let us inform you, on August 14 and 15, 2013, Asaram had unnatural sex with a minor student of his own Gurukul in the name of removing the shadow of ghosts in the ashram located in Manai, Jodhpur.

After this, a zero number FIR was registered in Delhi’s Kamla Nagar police station and that FIR was sent to Jodhpur. Reacting to complaint, Jodhpur police inspected the spot and then on the night of August 31, 2013 Asaram was arrested from the ashram located in Chhindwara. Police brought Asaram to Jodhpur on September 1. Since then, Asaram is lodged in Jodhpur Central Jail. The court has sentenced Asaram to rigorous imprisonment till his last breath and he is serving this sentence in Jodhpur Central Jail.
