Actor Shanto Khan’s father Salim Khan was the president of Lakshmipur Model Union Council of Chandpur Sadar Upazila. He was also a film producer and director. Both were beaten to death on Monday. August 5
Shanto Khan and his father Salim got involved in the riot in Farakkabd market while going from their house on Monday August 5 , afternoon. It was only after this that they encountered the mob. At that time they saved themselves by firing from their weapons, but later the attackers attacked Salim Khan and Shanto Khan and killed them. Salim Khan was the producer of the film made on Mujibur Rahman.
Case registered against both father and son
Case registered against Salim Khan and his son. Salim was convicted for illegal sand mining in Padma-Meghna river on Chandpur sea border. He had also gone to jail for this. Currently, a case was also going on against him in the Anti-Corruption Commission. The Anti-Corruption Commission had also registered a case against his son Shanto Khan for being involved in acquiring illegal property worth Rs 3.25 crore. Shanto was also accused of not declaring the property on time and acquiring illegal property.
