Pahalgam Attack: PM Modi’s meeting with top defense officials, NSA, CDS and chiefs of the three armies were present

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday April 29, 2025 held a meeting with the country’s top defense officials, which included Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and the chiefs of the three armies. Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan was also a part of this meeting. This meeting has taken place at a time when India is considering options for retaliation after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in South Kashmir. 26 people were killed in this attack, most of whom were tourists.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has clearly said that the terrorists responsible for the attack and their masters will be searched even to the last corner of the earth and will be given the harshest punishment. He was pointing towards Pakistan, because Pakistan has a history of spreading terrorism in India.

After the Pahalgam attack, the government had also called an all-party meeting. In this, the opposition parties said that they would fully support any action taken by the government against the terrorists.

The Cabinet Security Committee (CCS) also met the next day after the attack. In this meeting, it was told that the strings of this terrorist attack are connected across the border. It was also said that this attack has happened at a time when elections have been successfully completed in Jammu and Kashmir and the state is slowly moving towards economic progress.

Five big decisions were taken against Pakistan in the CCS meeting. This included decisions like immediate suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, closure of Attari check post, ending the permission for Pakistani citizens to enter India under SAARC visa, ordering the defense, military, naval and air force advisors posted in the Pakistani High Commission to leave the country within a week.
