Development works worth ₹140.96 crore presented to Bemetara district

Announcement of a 33/11 kV power substation in Singhora, a barrage on the Shivnath River in Amora, and a middle school in Basni

Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday October 9 , 2025 dedicated 47 development works worth a total of ₹140.96 crore to Bemetara district. These included the groundbreaking ceremony for 27 works and the inauguration of 20 works.

Addressing the public meeting organised on this occasion, Chief Minister Sai said that, living up to the public’s trust, the state government is fully committed to all-round and inclusive development. He stated that the government’s goal is to implement development works in the state with speed and transparency.

Chief Minister Sai said that the government is working towards the all-round development of the state with transparency, accountability, and commitment. He stated that rapid progress is being made in the areas of roads, drinking water, health, education, and urban amenities, directly benefiting the public. On this occasion, he announced the construction of a barrage on the Shivnath River in village Amora, the establishment of a 33/11 kV power substation in Singhora, and the opening of a middle school in village Basni. The Chief Minister also visited exhibitions set up by various departments at the venue.

Chief Minister Sai stated that the state government is continuously working to make villages self-reliant and empower farmers. He said, “We have fulfilled most of the promises made by the illustrious Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, within a short period of time.” The Chief Minister informed that 21 quintals of paddy per acre is being purchased in the state at a rate of ₹3100 per quintal. Farmers have been provided two years’ pending bonuses, and 1.8 million homeless families are benefiting from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Financial assistance of ₹1,000 per month is being provided under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana to empower women. He also informed that tendu leaves are being purchased from collectors in the state at a rate of ₹5,500 per standard bag.

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the government is prioritising villages, the poor, farmers, and women’s empowerment. Food Minister Dayal Das Baghel said that the state government is operating the Public Distribution System (PDS) with transparency, ensuring that no family goes hungry. He added that the Chief Minister’s intention is to ensure that the benefits of development reach the last person in society.

MP Vijay Baghel said that the state government is fulfilling its promises to the public with full dedication and commitment. He said that rapid development work is being carried out in rural districts like Bemetara, which is providing relief and better facilities to the common people. MLA Dipesh Sahu also addressed the program.

On this occasion, Food Minister Dayal Das Baghel, Cultural Minister Rajesh Agarwal, Technical Education Minister Guru Khuswant Saheb, Prahlad Rajak, MLAs Ishwar Sahu and Bhavna Bohra, Awadhesh Chandel, Labhchand Bafna, Chairman of Oil Mill Board Jitendra Sahu, along with many public representatives, representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions and a large number of villagers were present.
