Preparations for Chhattisgarh Rajyotsav 2026, marking the state’s Foundation Day, have gathered pace, with Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel reviewing arrangements for the three-day celebrations scheduled from November 1 to 3.
Sheel chaired a state-level review meeting at Mahanadi Bhawan in Nava Raipur on Tuesday to assess preparations for Rajyotsav and the State Investiture Ceremony.
The Chief Secretary directed all departments to complete their assigned preparations within the stipulated timeframe and prepare detailed plans for their departmental exhibitions. Departments have been asked to submit information regarding their preparations and exhibition plans by October 22.
He also emphasised that this year’s Rajyotsav should follow a central theme-based approach, highlighting areas such as Ease of Doing Business, human capital development, Viksit Bharat and Anjor Chhattisgarh, while presenting the state’s future direction and development priorities.
Departments Assigned Key Responsibilities
During Rajyotsav, various departments will present 40 state-level honours and awards. Officials have been directed to complete the selection process according to the prescribed schedule. The Culture Department has been made the nodal department for the celebrations.
The state-level event is proposed to be organised at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Udyog Evam Vyapar Parisar (Mela Ground) at Tuta in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.
CSIDC, NRDA and the Public Works Department have been assigned responsibilities including preparation of the site layout, allocation of stalls, development exhibitions, main stage, domes, pandals, seating arrangements and barricading.
The Public Relations Department and CHiPS will handle publicity and arrangements for a high-tech media centre. Raipur Municipal Corporation and NRDA will provide civic facilities, including city bus services, drinking water and sanitation.
The district administration and police will oversee security, traffic management, parking and fire-safety arrangements, while the Health and Energy departments will ensure medical facilities, ambulance services and uninterrupted power supply.

Prasanna; Tourism and Culture Secretary Dr S. Bharathidasan; Skill Development and Technical Education Secretary S. Basavaraju; Information Technology Secretary Ankit Anand; Sports and Youth Welfare Secretary Yashwant Kumar; Tribal Development Secretary Bhuvnesh Yadav; Labour Secretary Himshikhar Gupta; Village Industries Secretary Rajesh Singh Rana; and Energy Secretary Saransh Mittar, along with the Raipur Commissioner, Collector and other senior officials.
