Singapore: Chhattisgarh has secured foreign direct investment commitments worth ₹43,250 crore at the inaugural Singapore-India Network for Growth (SING) Forum 2026, marking a significant push towards positioning the State as an emerging centre for AI infrastructure, data centres and clean energy.

The largest commitment — ₹41,750 crore — came from Singapore-headquartered Energy Capital Global Pte Ltd for establishing a 100 MW AI-ready data centre campus in Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, who led the State delegation at the Forum, handed over the Invitation to Invest to the company.

Energy Capital Global develops and finances AI-ready data centres integrated with on-site clean power and has operations across the Asia-Pacific region. The proposed project assumes significance as Chhattisgarh is seeking to build upon its emerging digital infrastructure ecosystem and attract technology-intensive investment.

Energy Capital Global CEO Stanislav Borisov said Chhattisgarh offered the combination of power, land and policy support required for AI infrastructure.

“This MoU is the start of a long-term partnership. We look forward to building the largest AI-ready data centre campus in central India, bringing international capital and expertise to the State, and training Chhattisgarh’s engineers to run it,” Borisov said.

Chief Minister Sai described the commitments as a strong expression of investor confidence in Chhattisgarh.

“These investment commitments are a vote of confidence in Chhattisgarh’s policies, potential and people. They will open new opportunities for our youth and take us closer to our goal of building a Viksit Chhattisgarh,” Sai said.

Sai also participated in a fireside chat alongside Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, moderated by the Singapore Business Federation, where he outlined Chhattisgarh’s approach to industrial reforms and investment facilitation.

Emphasising that reforms should respond to the practical requirements of businesses rather than remain confined to administrative discussions, Sai said:

“We don’t bring reforms by discussing in closed rooms. We ask industry directly about their difficulties and change our systems to match. Over 450 reforms are done, and this Reform Express will not stop until people themselves say no more reform is needed.”

According to the State Government, the combination of regulatory reforms, a progressive industrial policy and investment facilitation has resulted in proposals worth more than ₹8 lakh crore over the past 18 months.

The Chief Minister’s participation in the Forum follows Chhattisgarh’s nomination by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

Singapore’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry Gan Siow Huang attended the Forum as Guest of Honour. Senior representatives from global corporations also participated in the gathering.

Beyond the major investment announcements, Sai held separate discussions with Aquatech and Adroit Overseas Pte Ltd. The talks explored opportunities in industrial wastewater reuse infrastructure and Chhattisgarh’s food-processing sector.

The Singapore engagement is also significant for Chhattisgarh’s attempt to diversify its investment profile beyond its traditional strengths in minerals, steel and power. Large-scale data infrastructure, renewable energy, energy storage and food processing could broaden the State’s industrial base while creating demand for new technical skills.

Sai is scheduled to meet executives of major Singapore companies and investment institutions at a CEO Roundtable on October 6, where the State delegation will seek to carry forward discussions initiated during the SING Forum.
