Raipur: Chhattisgarh has once again on Thursday September 25, 2025 created history in the field of water conservation and community participation. The state has secured second place nationally in the Jal sanchaya Jan Bhagadari 1.0 (JSJB) results. This achievement is not just an honour, but a living example of the confluence of water management and public participation. With 4,05,563 works completed so far in the state, water conservation has been transformed into a mass movement.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated the people of the state on this success, saying that this achievement lays the foundation for secure water resources for future generations. He said that this is a testament to the collective consciousness in the field of water conservation that has made Chhattisgarh an inspiration for the country.

Chhattisgarh has also established its superiority among the state’s urban bodies. The Raipur Municipal Corporation has won the National Award, securing the top spot in the country. Through 33,082 works, it not only promoted water conservation but also established it as a model of public participation-based urban development. The Chief Minister described this achievement as the result of the collective efforts of Raipur’s citizens and the municipal administration.

Chhattisgarh’s performance at the district level was also excellent. In Category 1, Balod secured first place, Rajnandgaon second, and Raipur third. These three districts will receive prizes of ₹2 crore each. In Category 2, Mahasamund, Baloda Bazar, and Gariaband will be awarded ₹1 crore each. In Category 3, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Balrampur, Dhamtari, Surajpur, and Durg will receive prizes of ₹25 lakh each for their outstanding participation. This demonstrates that water conservation has been prioritized across the state.

Chief Minister Sai stated that this honor belongs not only to the administration, but also to every farmer, every woman, every youth, and every public representative who pledged to save every drop of water. He said that public welfare is possible only through public participation, and Chhattisgarh has proven this.

He also clarified that this achievement is a direct result of the state’s “good governance policy based on public dialogue and public participation.” The Chief Minister described water conservation as the most important foundation for the state’s agriculture-based economy and long-term development.

For the national honor received by Raipur Municipal Corporation, the Chief Minister especially commended the corporation administration, public representatives, and citizens. He stated that this example of water conservation through community cooperation in an urban area is exemplary for the entire country and other municipal corporations can learn from it.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister urged the people of the state to consider this water conservation campaign not just a government program, but to make it a part of their lifestyle. He said that conserving every drop of water guarantees future water security.

This achievement in Chhattisgarh once again proves that when the government and the public work together, even the impossible becomes possible. The success of JSJB 1.0 has not only brought respect to the state but has also made it a national model for water management.
