The CG government gives cabinet minister status to Chhattisgarh State Waqf Board Chairman Dr Salim Raj just before the urban body elections. The General Administration Department has issued an order in this regard.

It has been said in the order issued that the state government gives the status of cabinet minister to Dr, Salim Raj , Chairman Chhattisgarh State Waqf Board Raipur.
