I am heartily grateful to all of you for this. The Chief Minister said that I got the opportunity to participate in many events of this association. I also got the opportunity to participate in events with Arjun Munda ji, President of National Archery Association. He said that the Archery Association honed the talent of Chhattisgarh’s archers with great skill and hard work, due to which our players performed brilliantly and won medals in many competitions including the national level.

He said that I myself come from the tribal-dominated Jashpur region. In childhood, we also used to hunt with bow and arrow. Archery is a favorite sport of all of us, especially the tribes. The special backward tribe Pahari Korwa resides in Jashpur district. These people are great archers, in ancient times the Pahari Korwa used to hunt with bow and arrow. Even today, there are three bows in every house of theirs. Sai said that efforts should be made to hone the natural talent of archery of these people. Currently, there are three archery academies in the state. We will also expand the Archery Academy in Jashpur district.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to the development of sports in the state. Every possible effort will be made by the government to hone sports talent. He said that the state government has announced a reward of Rs 3 crore to the player of Chhattisgarh who wins gold medal in the Olympics, Rs 2 crore to the player who wins silver medal and Rs 1 crore to the player of Chhattisgarh who wins bronze medal.
