Raipur: A guest lecture on the topic “Astronomy” was organised by the Department of Computer Science at Pragati College Chaubey Colony Raipur on Friday April 25, 2025 .

The resource person in this program was Dr. Nandkumar Chakradhari, Senior Assistant Professor, School of Study in Physics and Astrophysics , Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University , Raipur, who explained the mysteries of astronomy, solar system, constellations, Earth’s weather cycle, names of days of the week, orbit of Venus, and Moon to the students in a very simple and amusing way.
Besides Dr. Chakradhari also elucidate about the positions of stars and planets at different times and months from Pragati College . He said that Astrophysics is a branch of science which provides a complete study of the universe and the objects present in it like stars, galaxies and black holes.
On the occasion, Principal of the college Dr. Soumya Nayyar , Head of the Department (HOD) Computer Science Mr. Mannu Rawani , , Assistant Professor and Media and Advertisement Incharge Mr. Doneshwar Bhandari, Mr. Bharat Lal Sahu, Assistant Professor and Attendance Incharge Mrs. Meenal Chafekar, Assistant Professor, Feedback Incharge Sharda Sahu and Anita Sahu Assistant Professor, Technical Incharge Mr. Saurabh Soni and all the students were present .
The stage was conducted by Assistant Professor Pawan Kumar Yadav while coordinator of the program was Dr. Manpreet Kaur Assistant Professor ( Compuetr Sciecnce ) .
At the end of the program, the Head of the Computer Science Department Mr. Mannu Rawani presented a vote of thanks and gratitude, saying I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed guests, Dr. Nandkumar Chakradhari Priincipal of the College Dr. Somya Nayyar and All the faculties and students .
