Higher Education Department Permits to Start Classes in New Govt Colleges

Raipur: Following the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Higher Education Department of the Chhattisgarh Government has approved the establishment of four new government colleges as provided in the budget for the financial year 2025-26. According to the order issued by the Higher Education Department, these colleges will be established in Farsabahar (Jashpur District), Kardega (Jashpur District), Nagarnar (Bastar District), and Kilepal (Bastar District).

With this initiative by the Chief Minister, students from tribal-dominated and geographically remote areas like Jashpur and Bastar will now have access to higher education within their own areas. He stated that providing quality higher education to the youth of the state is a priority for his government. Daughters and sons from remote areas will no longer have to travel far from their homes for college education.

The state government is strengthening the education infrastructure to ensure access to higher education in every area. The Chief Minister further said that education is the foundation for the state’s all-round development, and the government is committed to providing opportunities, resources, and a better educational environment to the youth.

It is worth mentioning that the state government has approved the creation of a total of 132 posts (33 posts per college) for these four colleges, as well as permission to commence classes. The approved posts include principals, assistant professors, librarians, sports officers, assistant grade-1 staff, and laboratory staff.

This initiative by Chief Minister Sai will promote higher education in tribal and remote areas. Opportunities for education, employment, and skill development for local youth will increase. It will accelerate equitable and balanced educational development in the state.
