IND-W vs WI-W: Team India created history, did a big feat in the first ODI, defeated West Indies by 211 runs in Vadodara

 

India Women’s National Cricket Team

A three-match ODI series is being played between the Indian women’s team and the West Indies women’s team. After winning the T20 series 2-1, the Indian women’s team has also started the ODI series in a great way. Team India has won the first match of the ODI series.

West Indies innings
Chasing the target of 315 runs, West Indies looked weak from the beginning. Kiana Joseph was run out on the very first ball. Mathews returned to the pavilion without opening her account. Williams (03) and Dottin (08) also returned to the pavilion on a score of 11. After this, the Windies team could not recover. They lost six wickets for 34 runs. Campbell scored 21 and finally Alfie Fletcher scored an unbeaten 24 to take the Windies past the hundred mark. Apart from Renuka’s five wickets, Priya Mishra took two wickets for 22 runs. Titas Sadhu and Deepti Sharma managed to take one wicket each.
India’s innings
Smriti Mandhana and Delhi’s Preetika, who is playing her first ODI, made a century partnership of 110 runs for the first wicket. Preetika scored 40 runs with the help of four fours in 69 balls while Mandhana scored 91 runs. This is Smriti’s fifth half-century in five consecutive innings in all formats. Earlier, she had scored three half-centuries in three T20 matches against the Windies. Smriti then added 50 runs for the second wicket with Harleen Deol. Mandhana was out at the score of 160. She could not score a century. Harleen, who scored 44 runs with the help of two fours and a six in 50 balls, added 66 runs for the third wicket with captain Harmanpreet. Harmanpreet was run out after scoring 34 runs with three fours and a six in 23 balls. Jemima Rodrigues finally took the team to 300 by scoring 31 runs with the help of three fours and a six in 19 balls. Deepti returned unbeaten after scoring 14 runs in 12 balls. Jayda James took five wickets for 45 runs.
