Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar is constantly raising questions about the decisions and comments of the Supreme Court. Now in Delhi University, he said that what the constitution will be like will be decided by those who have been elected. There will be no one above it. Parliament is supreme. He also cited two comments of the Supreme Court.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has once again raised questions on the Supreme Court’s comment amid the judiciary vs executive debate. He said that Parliament is supreme. Every word spoken by every constitutional officer is related to the highest national interest.

In a program at Delhi University, the Supreme Court was cornered over the encroachment of judicial rights. He said that what the constitution will be like will be decided by those who have been elected. There will be no one above it. Parliament is supreme. He cited two comments of the Supreme Court. In this, in the Goraknath case, the Supreme Court had said that the preamble is not a part of the Constitution. While in the second Kesavananda Bharati case, the court had said that it is a part of the Constitution.

He said that every word spoken by any constitutional functionary is guided by the supreme interest of the nation. I find it quite interesting that some people have recently expressed the view that constitutional posts can be formal and decorative. Nothing can overcome the misunderstanding about the role of every person in this country, whether it is a constitutional functionary or a citizen.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar is constantly raising questions regarding the decisions and comments of the Supreme Court. Recently, Vice President Dhankhar had questioned the judiciary setting a deadline for the President to take decisions and act as a super parliament and said that the Supreme Court cannot fire a nuclear missile at democratic forces.

Vice President said these strong words for the judiciary while addressing the trainees of Rajya Sabha, a few days ago the Supreme Court had demanded a time limit for approving the bills put up for consideration by the President and the Governor. On this, the Vice President said, ‘So, we have judges who will make laws, who will do executive work, who will act as a super parliament and they will have no accountability because the law of the country does not apply to them.’

The Supreme Court had taunted

After the statement of Vice President Dhankhand and BJP leaders, the Supreme Court had taunted during the hearing on the petition to impose President’s rule in West Bengal. The bench of Justice BR Gavai and Justice Augustine George Masih had said that ‘You want us to issue an order to the President to impose President’s rule? Similarly, we are being accused of encroaching into the executive (area).’
