Mahakumbh 2025: Children of workers are doing ‘smart studies’ in Mahakumbh, Ganga of knowledge is flowing in ‘Vidya Kumbh’

Mahakumbh 2025: Temporary schools have been built in the fair area for the children of workers engaged in Mahakumbh. Five Vidya Kumbh primary schools have been built here in which children from class one to five are being educated.

Education is being provided to children from class one to five. This initiative of the Basic Education Department is also getting support from the Shiv Nadar Institute. In these schools, arrangements have been made for the education of children from class one to class five. Smart classes have also been created so that children take interest in studies. In these smart classes, children are being taught through audio-visual means

Children from other states are also studying
Vidya Kumbh Sector 2 Principal Dilip Mishra says that not only children from Uttar Pradesh but also from other states including Madhya Pradesh, Bihar are studying in his school. These children are being taught by the Basic Education Department as per their syllabus. These children will study here till Kumbh which will run till 26th February. When these children go back to their respective schools, the Basic Education Department will give them a certificate of studying from all these Vidya Kumbhs situated in the Kumbh area. In which these children will be eligible to appear for the examination in their respective classes by showing it in their schools.

More than 200 children in one Vidya Kumbh
This school was inaugurated by Maha Kumbh OSD Akanksha Rana. On the occasion of inauguration, IAS Akanksha Rana herself explained the importance of studies to the children and encouraged them. Dilip Mishra tells that Sanitation School 2, built under Shastri Bridge, was started from 9 December. For this, first a survey of the colony was done. After the survey, the children were sorted out as to which children were studying in which class. What was their age. On that basis, these children were given admission. It started with about 150 children. This number is increasing continuously. By 27 December, 205 children had started studying in the school. This number is increasing continuously. Workers are continuously coming. All the new workers who are coming here are taking advantage of this facility. Along with studies from class one to class five, an Anganwadi center for small children is also being run in the same campus.

Arrangements were made from school uniform to notebooks
The Basic Education Department has made arrangements for school dress, notebooks and books for these children coming to study in the school. Umang kit and smart class have also been arranged with the help of Shiv Nadar Sansthan. Children showed the most interest in this smart class. Educate Girls has also helped in arranging all the necessary material related to the children’s studies. Five teachers have been appointed in the school along with a headmaster to teach the children. The teachers are teaching the children the alphabets of Hindi as well as mathematical numbers and English. The teachers are training the children of labourers who have come from far-off places. The Mela administration has created the entire infrastructure and handed over these schools to the Basic Education Department. After this, the department is running these schools with full dedication.

It was started in the 2019 Kumbh. Everyone is appreciating this unique initiative. This initiative, which has become smart in the 2025 Kumbh, was also seen in the 2019 Kumbh. Then the Basic Education Department had opened five temporary council schools in the Kumbh Mela.
