Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday June 28, 2026 said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat has evolved into a powerful platform for connecting with citizens, encouraging public participation, and inspiring positive social change across the country.
The Chief Minister made the remarks after listening to the 135th episode of Mann Ki Baat at his official residence in Raipur. He was joined by public representatives, senior officials, and citizens.
Addressing those present, Chief Minister Sai said the programme has become much more than a monthly radio broadcast, serving as a meaningful dialogue between the country’s leadership and its people. He noted that Prime Minister Modi’s messages consistently motivate citizens to contribute towards nation-building and reinforce the collective vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).
“Mann Ki Baat has become a powerful medium of public participation and inspiration. Every episode showcases innovative ideas, community initiatives, and inspiring stories from across the nation, encouraging people to actively participate in social transformation,” the Chief Minister said.
Sai also expressed pride that several innovative initiatives and success stories from Chhattisgarh have been featured in previous editions of Mann Ki Baat, bringing national recognition to the state’s achievements.
Referring to the key messages of the latest episode, the Chief Minister said Prime Minister Modi appealed to citizens to celebrate the upcoming Ganeshotsav in an environmentally responsible manner by installing clay idols of Lord Ganesha. He described the appeal as an important step towards promoting environmental conservation while preserving cultural traditions.
The Chief Minister further highlighted the Prime Minister’s emphasis on expanding social security through welfare schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana. He also noted the call to transform water conservation into a nationwide people’s movement by encouraging every citizen to conserve rainwater.
Speaking about environmental conservation, Sai said the Prime Minister cited Meghalaya’s famous Living Root Bridges as an inspiring example of the harmonious relationship between nature and human ingenuity. He added that the Prime Minister stressed the importance of protecting natural heritage through community participation and sustainable practices.
The Chief Minister also appreciated the Prime Minister’s emphasis on eliminating superstition through scientific thinking, awareness, and education. He referred to the inspiring work of Assam’s ‘Hargila Army,’ a women-led movement that has successfully helped conserve the endangered Hargila bird while changing long-held social misconceptions associated with the species.
Sai further noted that the Prime Minister highlighted initiatives such as the Nagaland Baby League and the Nagaland Women’s Futsal League, which are nurturing sporting talent and promoting a strong sports culture among young people in the northeastern state.
The Chief Minister said Prime Minister Modi also praised the efforts of Nalanda University and Central Sanskrit University in integrating India’s ancient knowledge traditions with modern technology. He added that the Prime Minister mentioned the growing global interest in Indian culture, citing the efforts of members of Brahmakamal Dominicana in the Dominican Republic, who are studying Vedic literature and learning Vedic chants.
He also highlighted the Prime Minister’s appreciation for women from Biaora in Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district, who have transformed plastic waste into eco-bricks for beautifying public spaces, describing the initiative as an excellent example of cleanliness, innovation, and community participation.
Several dignitaries attended the programme, including senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Pracharak Indresh Kumar, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, MLA Gomti Sai, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Dr. Rampratap Singh, CGMSC Chairman Deepak Mhaske, Chhattisgarh State Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Sanjay Srivastava, Sachchidanand Upasane, Akhilesh Soni, along with other public representatives and prominent citizens.
The event concluded with a collective reaffirmation of the commitment to translate the Prime Minister’s messages into action and contribute towards building a developed, inclusive, and environmentally conscious India.
