Nine notorious Naxals carrying a bounty of Rs 43 lakh on their heads surrendered on Saturday January 11, 2025 in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district. All of them have been involved in several attacks on security forces. These Naxals will be given Rs 25,000 each and will be rehabilitated as per the government policy.

Seven districts, including Sukma, are included in this region.

Sukma Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan said that nine Naxals, including two women, surrendered in front of senior police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officials. They are disappointed with the hollowness, inhuman nature of Maoist ideology and the internal strife within the organization. Along with this, they are also impressed by the state government’s ‘Niyad Nellnar’ (Your Good Village) scheme.

The scheme aims to facilitate development work in remote villages. Senior Naxalites have retreated due to increased pressure from security forces and the establishment of police camps in the interiors. Maoists’ platoon number 24 commander Runsai alias Oyam Buska (34) and company member of PLGA battalion number 1 Pradeep alias Ravva Rakesh (20) had a reward of Rs 8 lakh each on their heads.

The SP said that there was a reward of Rs 5 lakh on four other Naxalites. There was a reward of Rs 3 lakh on a female Naxalite. There was a reward of Rs 2 lakh each on two others, including a woman. Naxal commander Runsai has been involved in many major attacks, including an ambush in Jhara Valley in Narayanpur district in 2007. Seven policemen were killed in this. A large number were injured.

Along with this, the Ranibodli (Bijapur district) attack in the year 2007, in which 55 security personnel were killed.

Ambush in Burkapal (Sukma) in the year 2017, in which 25 CRPF personnel were killed. Minpa ambush (Sukma) attack in the year 2020, in which 17 security personnel were killed. Other Naxalites who surrendered were also involved in many attacks on security forces. Their surrender is a big success.

5. Madkam Joga – Rs 5 lakh

6. Muchaki Deva – Rs 5 lakh

7. Madvi Sukki – Rs 3 lakh

8. Kartam Velli – Rs 2 lakh

9. Madvi Rakesh – Rs 2 lakh
