Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday September 26, 2025 attended the Annual General Body Meeting of the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association held at the Circuit House- Auditorium in the capital, Raipur.

The agenda of the meeting was to discuss many important issues including approval of the audit report for the year 2024-25, the presentation and approval of the annual budget for the year 2025-26, and the appointment of an auditor for the year 2025-26.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and President of the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association made a major announcement while addressing the meeting . He said that that Olympic participants from Chhattisgarh will now receive an incentive of ₹21 lakh.

CM Sai said that there is no shortage of sporting talent in Chhattisgarh. Our government is continuously striving to recognise and nurture these talents. We have restarted the previously discontinued Sports Awards Ceremony, and the Outstanding Players’ Honors Ceremony will also be reinstated soon.

Chief Minister Sai stated that new Khelo India complexes have been inaugurated in Chhattisgarh. A few months ago, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya visited Chhattisgarh, where we discussed in detail the expansion of sports infrastructure with him. We have made special preparations to encourage athletes, especially for the Olympic Games. It has been decided to award Rs. 3 crore to the state’s gold medalists, Rs. 2 crore to silver medalists, and Rs. 1 crore to bronze medalists. This will naturally encourage athletes.

Chief Minister Sai affirmed that our government is striving to increase the sports budget and encourage participation from the corporate sector.

Chief Minister Sai further said that our illustrious Prime Minister Narendra Modi has proposed India host the Olympic Games in 2036, and Ahmedabad has been selected for this purpose. Naturally, the central government’s full focus is on strengthening the sports system in the country so that we can emerge as a superpower in the field of sports within a decade. Similarly, in Chhattisgarh, we must make collective efforts to organise national-level sports, CM Sai added .

Addressing the program, Cabinet Minister and the Vice President of the Association, Kedar Kashyap said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, sports competitions like the Bastar Olympics have been initiated, providing a golden platform to the sports talents of the remote forest region.
