A crucial meeting is currently underway in Lucknow, presided over by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, to discuss the implementation of online classes and ‘work from home’ arrangements across the state. Following an appeal by the Prime Minister, the government is deliberating on new protocols in light of potential future scenarios. Recently, PM Modi emphasised the need to strengthen both ‘work from home’ practices and digital education.

In Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is holding a key meeting with officials on Tuesday May 12 , 2026 at his official residence located at 5 Kalidas Marg.
During this meeting, significant issues—such as the introduction of online classes and ‘work from home’ arrangements within the state—are being discussed in detail.

According to sources, the state government is brainstorming new strategies and arrangements in anticipation of potential future circumstances, following the Prime Minister’s recent appeal. The meeting is specifically focusing on preparations to effectively implement online education across the state.

Additionally, deliberations are taking place regarding necessary administrative preparations, guidelines, and inter-departmental coordination. Officials are expected to receive essential directives concerning these potential arrangements.

The government’s primary focus is to ensure that the education system remains uninterrupted under any circumstances, and that alternative arrangements can be implemented immediately should the need arise. Significant decisions regarding this matter are expected to emerge following the conclusion of the meeting.

PM Modi’s Appeal
It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently issued several appeals aimed at alleviating the pressure on India’s economy amidst rising tensions in West Asia and global instability. He urged citizens to reduce fuel consumption, defer purchases of gold, adopt ‘work from home’ practices, and curtail non-essential expenditure.

Addressing an event in Vadodara, Gujarat, the Prime Minister stated that the world has been passing through a phase of instability for several years—a period that began with the COVID-19 pandemic and has now been further exacerbated by the conflict in West Asia.

The ‘Work from Home’ Appeal
The Prime Minister urged citizens to minimise their usage of petrol and diesel to the greatest extent possible. He appealed for greater utilisation of the Metro, electric buses, and public transport, as well as for the promotion of carpooling. He further stated that those who own cars should travel with more people in a single vehicle.

Additionally, the Prime Minister reiterated his appeal to promote “Work from Home.” He noted that digital technology has simplified working methods, and prioritising virtual meetings and working remotely has now become absolutely essential—whether in the government or the private sector.
