Prime Minister extended his heartfelt wishes to pilgrims, describing Kedarnath Dham and the Char Dham Yatra as a divine celebration of faith, unity, and rich traditions

New Delhi: As the doors of Kedarnath Temple opened to welcome devotees, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday reflected on the spiritual significance of the occasion.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister extended his heartfelt wishes to pilgrims, describing Kedarnath Dham and the Char Dham Yatra as a “divine celebration of faith, unity, and rich traditions.”

“Today, on the sacred land of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, the doors of Shri Kedarnath Dham have been opened for all devotees with full rites and rituals. This journey to Kedarnath and the Char Dham is a divine celebration of our faith, unity, and rich traditions. Through these journeys, we also glimpse India’s eternal culture,” he wrote.

The Prime Minister also shared that he had written a letter to devotees undertaking the pilgrimage, expressing his wish that Baba Kedar blesses everyone and makes their journeys auspicious.

In his message, he highlighted the spiritual importance of the Char Dham circuit—Badrinath Temple, Kedarnath Temple, Gangotri Temple, and Yamunotri Temple—set amid the Himalayas and sacred rivers. He described these sites as symbols of India’s ancient culture and enduring traditions, revered by devotees for centuries.

The Prime Minister also outlined ongoing development efforts in Uttarakhand aimed at preserving spiritual heritage while improving the pilgrimage experience. These include infrastructure upgrades, enhanced temple capacity, better roads and pathways, access to clean drinking water, sanitation facilities, medical services, and improved security and guidance systems.

He noted that reconstruction work at Kedarnath and development projects at Badrinath are progressing rapidly, ensuring greater convenience and safety for pilgrims. Facilities such as resting shelters, improved lighting, emergency healthcare, and regular maintenance have been introduced to support devotees throughout their journey.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to making the pilgrimage smooth and memorable, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to all those involved in these efforts and warmly welcomed devotees to the sacred abode of Baba Kedar.
