PM Narendra Modi started ‘Gujarat Gaurav Yatra’ on September 8 , 22 years ago

New Delhi: ‘Gujarat Gaurav Yatra’ has completed 22 years. On this occasion, ‘Modi Archive’ has shared some old pictures of PM Narendra Modi. In these pictures, Narendra Modi is seen addressing the gatherings on the occasion of ‘Gujarat Gaurav Yatra’. Sharing the photo, ‘Modi Archive’ wrote in the caption, “The journey started 22 years ago to maintain the pride of Gujarat. Narendra Modi’s legacy as the pioneer of BJP’s ‘yatra culture’ started long ago, but his first major journey as Chief Minister started with ‘Gujarat Gaurav Yatra’.”

He further wrote, “What makes Narendra Modi different is his yatra, which has traditionally been used by the BJP to raise organisational issues. Gujarat Gaurav Yatra was unique in that it was aimed at taking governance issues to the people by the government in power, which was rarely seen before. Usually yatras used to be a weapon for opposition parties, aimed only at highlighting problems and targeting governments. But, CM Modi used it to connect directly with the people and show the achievements of the state government under his leadership.”

He said Narendra Modi, a veteran of countless yatras, wanted to take his message to every corner of the state. The Gujarat Gaurav Yatra did just that. Modi spoke people about his government’s achievements through this yatra. “Just a few months after taking over as chief minister in October 2001, he spoke to people about topics that mattered a lot to him. These included poor welfare, construction of check dams to solve the state’s water crisis, the importance of education and improving female literacy, especially through the Kanya Kelavani programme,” the Modi Archive further wrote.
