Pragati College Journalism Department Holds Get-Together

Raipur : A get-together program for the students of the Journalism and Mass Communication Department of Pragati College was held at Pragati College campus on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Junior and senior students welcomed each other with a tilak ceremony, and the hall was illuminated with vibrant dance and music performances.

Speaking at the event, the college principal, Dr. Soumya Nayyar said that a lot more is expected from the students of Journalism department, as the course itself is known as fourth pillar of Indian Constitution thus responsibility of the students who opted journalism path of their career are needs to be more responsible towards the society and nation building , She added.

We can achieve success in life through time management and self-discipline. She emphasised that students should first strive to be good human beings and always remember that they are citizens of India and must represent the country well. The nation has high expectations from them, the principal noted .

The Head of the Journalism Department, Dr. Praveen Yadav, advised the students to set their goals and work diligently day and night to achieve them. He wished all the students a bright future.

At the event, K. Soumya gave captivating performances on the songs “Senorita” from the movie “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” and “Kurchi Madathapetti” from the movie “Guntur Kaaram.” Kajal and Varsha Bhoi enthralled the audience with their performances on the remix song “Chikni Chameli” and the Chhattisgarhi song “Maya Ho Ge Re.” Kushal Sharma received much applause for his performance on the song “Tere Bina” from the movie “Heropanti.”

The students entertained their seniors with various dance, music, and game programs. At the end of the program, the following students were awarded:

Miss Farewell – Jagriti Dewangan

On the occasion, the college principal Dr. Soumya Nayyar administrator Jyoti Thakur, Head of the Journalism Department Dr. Praveen Kumar Yadav, assistant professors Kumar Bahukhandi, Sanjeev Verma, Bhuvneshwar Yadav and all the faculty members graced the event with their presence to encourage the students

I Always Listen and Obey what my heart, my inner voice, my soul tells me. I prefer to be true to myself, even at the hazard of incurring the ridicule of others.
