Prostitution racket: Woman convicted, women supplied to influential people

New Delhi: A woman has been found guilty of running a sex racket in America. This woman used to do this while living in Greater Boston. Women were use to supply influential people through her sex racket. Customers included politicians, army officers, lawyers and corporate executives.

This 42-year-old woman named Han Lee arrived at the Boston Federal Court for hearing. Prosecutors said that mainly Asian women travel to Massachusetts and Virginia to engage in prostitution and do money laundering.

The Massachusetts resident was arrested in November last year along with Junmyung Lee, 31, and James Lee, 69. They were later indicted by a federal grand jury in February for operating a prostitution racket. Han Lee faces up to 25 years in prison when she is sentenced in December. She told the judge that she did not force any women to engage in sex work while running the illegal prostitution business.

According to prosecutors, Han Li ran several brothels in Cambridge and Watertown, Massachusetts and Fairfax and Tyson, Virginia, since July 2020. Prosecutors said that she created the basic infrastructure for these brothels in several states. Its purpose was to persuade, motivate and lure women. For this, Asian women were especially targeted. Han Li used to charge her customers from 350 to 600 dollars for sex services. Payment was taken entirely in cash. These people promoted their work on two websites. Apart from this, talks were made through local numbers and only verified customers were called. They were informed about the menu and available places through text messages.
