Key Factors

  • The Work of Public Relations Demands Responsibility; Treat It with Utmost Seriousness
  • Every Officer’s Performance Will Be Evaluated Based on Results
  • Directives Issued for Disciplinary Action Against Officers from Three Districts for Negligence in Publicity and Outreach Activities

Raipur: While conducting a meeting on Friday April 24, 2026 with officials from the Directorate of Public Relations and District Public Relations Officers at the ‘Samvad’ office in Nava Raipur, Public Relations Commissioner Rajat Bansal stated that, in the current era, it is essential for Public Relations Officers to be proficient in all facets of new-age media.

He emphasised that, with changing times, embracing new technologies and modern mediums of communication is the key to effective public relations, Commissioner Bansal added.

He unequivocally said that the work of public relations is a highly responsible undertaking; therefore, it must be executed with absolute seriousness, and any form of negligence or laxity must be strictly avoided, CPR Bansal noted.

Public Relations Officers serve as a bridge between the government and the public; consequently, their responsibilities become even more significant. He further added that the performance of every officer would be evaluated based on the tangible results achieved.

During the meeting, he issued directives to maintain regular contact and coordination with Ministers, Departmental Secretaries, Heads of Departments, and District Collectors.

This will ensure the timely and effective exchange of information—a prerequisite for the proper implementation and publicity of government schemes, Commissioner remarked.

Reviewing the preparations for the publicity and outreach of the state-wide ‘Sushasan Tihar’ (Good Governance Festival), scheduled to commence on May 1st, the Public Relations Commissioner directed that print, electronic, and social media platforms be utilised to their fullest potential to ensure the widespread dissemination of information regarding the state government’s public welfare schemes, CPR stressed.

He instructed the officers to leverage every available medium effectively to extend the reach of these schemes to the maximum number of people.

He placed special emphasis on the need to convey the actual experiences of beneficiaries—those who have directly benefited from the ongoing development works and schemes within the state—to the general public through video posts and news reports. CPR noted.

Such initiatives, he stated , serve as an inspiration for others to come forward and avail themselves of these benefits as well.

During the meeting, instructions were also issued to maintain continuous contact and coordination with print, electronic, and digital media to ensure the effective dissemination of information regarding the achievements of various schemes and the government’s initiatives.

The Commissioner of Public Relations urged all officials to work in an active and responsible manner so that government schemes reach the general public effectively; concurrently, he directed that disciplinary action be initiated against three District Public Relations Officers for negligence in their publicity duties.

Present at the meeting were Additional Directors—including Messrs Umesh Mishra, Sanjeev Tiwari, and Alok Dev, as well as Harsha Pauranik—along with District Public Relations Officers from the Directorate and the various districts.
